Exploring
Lake Maggiore by Ferry
From
Stresa, the easiest way to explore the lake is by local
ferry.
In the immediate area (the Borromean Bay) there are regular
ferries running every 30 minutes all day from around 08.00
until around 18.00. For full timetables visit the
Navigazione Laghi
website.
The
best way to explore the Borromean Bay is using a
"Rover Ticket" which allows you to hop on and off the
ferries all day. Current prices range from € 9.80 to € 14.70
depending on which area you wish to cover. If you purchase a Rover
Ticket you can also add on the entrance fees to palaces,
gardens and villas at a discounted rate.
All
types of ferry ticket
can be purchased at Tomassucci Travel. As all our staff
speak English you can be sure you will get the exact ticket for
your planned journey.

Taking
dogs on the ferries
Dogs are allowed on the ferries so long as they are wearing a muzzle
and are kept on the lead. For visiting Switzerland they will need a
pet passport showing that they up to date with their jabs. They pay
the child rate and are not permitted in the restaurant. |
