Lake Orta: green and blue Nature & Walking/Cycling Description A rainbow of greens and blues provide a scenic backdrop to Lake Orta, where a footpath and a cycle path offer visitors the chance to discover the area in the unique way that only a gentle ramble or relaxing bike ride can provide. The two routes, blue and green, form two complete circuits around Lake Orta. The blue route is nearer to the lakeside with some parts very close to the shore whilst the green route leads you through the surrounding hills and is a unique way to discover the hillside hamlets that look down over Lake Orta. Suitable for walkers of any level, each route is longer than 20 miles although it is possible to do shorter walks covering only part of the circuit.
