Surrounded by nature, the Sacri Monti represent a perfect combination of art, nature and religion. Planned and built as pilgrimage destinations for both local people and pilgrims from further afield, the Sacri Monti house some very important works of art.

In the area around Lake Maggiore you will find the Sacro Monte in Orta, the Calvario Sacro Monte, the Most Holy Sacrament Trinity in Ghiffa and the Sacro Monte in Varallo Sesia.

To visit these Sacri Monti in their spectacular surroundings, itineraries lasting for one or more days can be arranged.
