The Vigezzo Valley: forgotten villages and activities Tradition & Nature Duration Full Day. Description For centuries, stock-farming and agriculture have constituted the basis of the Alpine rural economy: traces of this type of activity are still evident in the Vigezzo Valley. The little ghost town of Marone can only be reached by the narrow gauge Vigezzina Railway and offers the opportunity to see traditional rural architecture. It is also possible to reach the small village of Trontano on foot or with the Vigezzina Railway and from there you can visit the Graglia Mills. Nestled in the countryside, the five mills have recently been restored as they were abandoned after the second world war and are testimony to the traditions of rye farming. Itinerary
