Mottarone Alpyland Alpine Coaster

Alpyland is the newest attraction in Stresa. It is an alpine coaster which starts at the very summit of Mount Mottarone.

The 750 metres of track twist and turn through parabolic curves with a descent of 100 metres to the top station of the Mottarone Cable Car / the bottom station of the Mottarone chair lift. You have control of the breaks and can reach speeds of up to 40kph.

Each bob takes two people or you can ride alone. The track is open nearly all year round so you can enjoy the thrill in summer or in the snow!

How to reach Alpyland:

Alpyland can be reached by the Mottarone cable car from Stresa. During the summer the cable car departs every 20 minutes from Stresa Lido 09.30-12.30/13.30-17.30. For descending make sure you know the time of the last cable car back down to Stresa. This is usually 17.40 during the summer but there is a sign at the top to remind you/advise of any changes. Full timetables for summer and winter can be found at www.stresa-mottarone.it. The 2012 season is due to start in March.

You can also reach Alpyland by car. There is free parking near the top station of the Mottarone cable car and at other points around the top of Mottarone. Please note that the last stretch of road is owned by the Borromean Family and there is a toll payable.
